GE wide enterprise search redesign, was the one of the very first attempt of a fully responsive interface for the multidimensional GE wide search. The vision was to enable all GE wide global users to be more efficient so they can quickly find various facets of search results - People, Documents, Collaboration teams, Articles, News, Links etc. which at that time were very scattered and required a lot of effort and time to retrieve. Overall a bad user experience.
The pleasure was to have direct access to our user base throughout our design process. It was quite important for us to identify and observe the several different ways that users could use the new Search. So we did a lot of research and competitive analysis. As in the present situation then, there were different mediums and portals where the users had to go and look for stuff. We realized that it was time to give them a unified experience. And also with the flexibility to use it on any device they have access to
