MyGE is a centralized & contemporary hub that brings together many GE sites and tools into a single destination. Primarily the home page for all GE employees. Based on employee experience & feedback, the site is continuously improving, iterating and evolving to best meet employee needs.
To come up with a one stop portal for all GE Employees which is an aggregated content hub that pulls news, productivity data and tools, articles, personalized content, leadership announcements and much more from various digital streams. Integrate OneGE Search so that the users should be able to search insideGE articles, People, Articles, Files Libraries and many other digital assets within MyGE.
I got involved in this project right from the inception in 2013. We initially partnered with a design agency for over all design strategies, and took full ownership of the design & development in-house. I have been involved the overall design thinking in continuous collaboration with the product/functional owners, and technical teams while working in an Agile setup. As this is an iterative project the momentum of enhancing the experience is continuous with extensive user testing at various phases.
I actively participated in helping the team in conducting discovery of all our users and business stakeholder needs and requirements. The idea was to make the portal driven by user experience and informed through data.
This being the critical portal for all company employees, it was a great opportunity to get in touch with a desired group of Primary and moderate users. We interviewed and got a lot of candid and valuable responses which helped us in taking some important design decisions more confidently.
